Lindy introduces a soft, snow white little dog called Gift – a young, gentle and cuddly stray who arrived at the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha about a month ago. She is a very loving dog, who’ll make the perfect companion for any family. Gift gets along well with other dogs, especially puppies. So much so that she fosters all the new pups that come into Mdzananda’s care.
Lindy also talks to Toni Brockhoven of Beauty Without Cruelty about the first ever Animals Matter To Africa march and festival taking place in Cape Town on World Animal Day.
You can catch all the details in the podcast:

If you would like to adopt Gift, please contact the Mdzananda Animal Clinic Khayelitsha on 021 367 2302 or mail them at: mdzananda@absamail.co.za

Mdzananda Animal Clinic is the only permanent animal welfare support in Khayelitsha.

Lindy and Mpho introduce Penny – a cuddly Boomer cross and one of the sweetest little stray dogs to ever wander into the care of the AACL (Animal Anti-Cruelty League). Penny is such a pretty little miss that the AACL used her as one of the faces to advertise their  Paws Thru The Vine Dog Walk, which takes place this Sunday, 28 September, at Eikendal Vineyards, Stellenbosch.
For more information about this fun event with rugby player James Dalton as special guest and to listen to Penny’s furry tale, click here:

Oortjies has traveled a rocky road and lost one eye, but this seven-year-old mixed breed still has the cutest grin. Left abandoned, Oortjies was taken in by the Watershed Animal Rescue and Rehab Centre who has given him a new lease on life. Thanks to Stephne Jackson’s loving care, this once abused dog is a ray of sunshine truly capable of being a man’s best mate.
Oortjies came wobbling into Smile 90.4FM’s studio after a leg “op” and although he was still in quite a bit of pain, he had kisses for everyone. But, be aware:  He’s not fond of other male dogs, nor cats. Oortjies just wants to be with a human friend and will be content to be by your side, wherever you go. He is not an active dog and will be best-suited with someone who leads a quite, peaceful life and who has plenty of time to pay him the attention he deserves.
If you want to adopt or know of a family who needs a four-legged friend, see www.watershed.org.za or contact Lizma: lizma@smile904.fm
You can listen to Oortjies’s furry tale here and also find out more about the work done by the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha:
